Anagram Solver
Enter letters to find all exact anagrams.
Only returns words that use every letter you provide.
How the Anagram Solver works
Enter your letters and click Find Anagrams. The solver finds every valid English word that uses all the letters you entered — no more, no fewer. This makes it different from the Word Unscrambler, which also finds words that use only a subset of your letters.
What is an anagram?
An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging every letter of another word or phrase, using each letter exactly once. For example, LISTEN is an anagram of SILENT, EARTH is an anagram of HEART, and ASTRONOMER is an anagram of MOON STARER. Anagrams have been used as wordplay, pen names, and even as coded messages throughout history.
Famous anagrams
- LISTEN → SILENT, ENLIST, TINSEL, INLETS
- TRIANGLE → INTEGRAL, RELATING, ALERTING
- ASTRONOMER → MOON STARER
- SCHOOLMASTER → THE CLASSROOM
- CONVERSATION → VOICES RANT ON
Anagrams in word games
Anagram solving is central to Scrabble, Words With Friends, and Jumble puzzles — all of which require you to form words from a fixed set of letters. In Scrabble, a player who can instantly see anagrams in their rack has a significant advantage. Many experienced Scrabble players memorise all valid two- and three-letter words precisely because these short anagram plays are often the highest-scoring moves available.
Anagram vs word unscrambler
The Word Unscrambler finds words that use some or all of your letters, making it ideal when you want to see every possible word from a rack. The Anagram Solver is stricter — it only returns words that use every letter exactly. Use the Anagram Solver when the puzzle requires an exact rearrangement (like the Daily Jumble), and the Word Unscrambler when you want the broadest possible list.
